This week, I’ve got some real treats coming up on the think fruitful blog! I’m taking a part in a progressive Blogsgiving Dinner that is going to give you so many Thanksgiving and Christmas food ideas it’s not even funny.

I’ve joined with a team of other bloggers to showcase special holiday-inspired recipes all this week!

So get ready for a full week of comforting, tasty recipes for drinks, appetizers, side dishes and more!

Today, we’re starting off the week with one of my own concoctions that I’m really excited about.

It’s a Carolina Apple Sidecar, and it’s a perfectly refreshing but seasonal drink to serve before or after your holiday meals.

This drink is also pretty special because it features apple brandy that’s made right here in NC at the Carolina Distillery in Lenoir! If you live in NC, you can buy it at your local ABC store.

We mix that with some apple cider (Trader Joe’s honeycrisp cider is a good one), lemon juice and a splash of fun bitters (if you have them), shake it up and you’re ready to entertain!

There aren’t too many components to this drink, and I bet if you heated it up with a few cinnamon sticks, you would have a warm and tasty hot toddy to share with your guests.

About Blogsgiving

Thanksgiving is all about family, friends and delicious food. Luckily, the food blogging community is all about these things as well. To celebrate the holiday, Meghan from Cake ‘n’ Knife and Susannah from Feast + West are hosting Blogsgiving Dinner. There are 20 awesome blogs sharing 52 recipes

The idea is based on the old-fashioned progressive dinner party, in which you’d eat each course at a different guest’s home. Each blogger is bringing one or more dishes to the party on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week, so be sure to stop by each one and get some ideas for your own Thanksgiving meal.

Today’s courses include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and soup.
