Spring Things

spring things

I would like to take some time to say “Hallelujah, spring is coming/maybe here!”

It amazes me how much I enjoy the changing of the seasons these days, and I love how God knows when we need a change of pace and weather. I celebrate (as I hope you are) in the longer days, outdoor living and lots of vitamin D.

Here are a few spring things that I’m really excited about:

Breweries

There is no better time than the spring to do some brewery exploring. Drinking a hoppy brew on the porch and enjoying a friend or loved one’s company (at least once a week) is definitely on my to-do list for this spring.

Some of my favorite local breweries/bottle shops are Trophy, Tasty Beverage, Bottle Revolution, Crank Arm, Haw River and Wicked Weed (in Asheville).

Outdoor Exercising

Although I’ve been doing a lot of swimming for exercise lately, I’m so ready for some warm weather walks. I love walking for exercise or even just to enjoy the beauty of nature and de-stress from work.

Some of my favorite Raleigh trails are Shelley Lake, Lake Lynn and Umstead State Park.

New Produce

Spring means there are lots of new things to buy at the farmers market (though I’ve been going strong on greens and apples). I’m especially looking forward to tasting fresh asparagus and sweet berries.

The State Farmers Market in Raleigh and the Midtown Farmers Market at North Hills are my go-to spots for local produce.

Cookouts

There’s nothing quite like the smell of some burgers and veggies on the grill. Even as someone who doesn’t eat a lot of red meat, I do love a good spring or summer cookout.

When we do a cookout, we love to get our burger patties from The Butcher’s Market in Raleigh or Cary.

And this just starts my list of spring excitement.

What are you looking forward to this spring?
