YOLO Tomato Dinner

Sometimes you just need someone to tell you to go for it.

Treat yo’self.

YOLO.

Do something that makes a memory, even if it’s a little wild or costs you a few bucks.

Like say going to a 5-course tomato dinner cooked by local celebrity chef, Ashley Christensen, as we did last Tuesday evening.

I had seen an ad for this dinner online, but thought that (for a million reasons) it might not be the best month for my husband and I to splurge on a dinner like this.

And then they teased me with rose pairings…and a chance to check out the new Bridge Club in Raleigh.

I’m so glad we gave in.

This dinner was such a memory for my husband and me as we enjoyed some of the best that local food has to offer, and we got to hear about Craig LeHouiller’s dedication to growing heirloom tomatoes and seed saving. He even wrote a book about it!

It gave us an excuse to just enjoy time together on a Tuesday evening and realize how blessed we are to live in this city.

How fun to cheers the night away to homemade ricotta, the best grilled bread, velvety chilled tomato soup, tender pork shoulder, palette-awakening rose and tomatoes in their best and purest forms.

There’s always something to celebrate.
