Simple Saturday: Pitcher Perfect

If Memorial Day weekend isn’t the time to grill out, invite some friends over and enjoy some delicious beverages, then I don’t know when is.

It’s also a great time to relax and enjoy all of those things, even if you’re the host.

Recently, my husband and I have been learning more cocktail tips and tricks at the Crude Bitters & Sodas Cocktail Classes. One thing that we’ve learned is the beauty of a batch of cocktails.

When you make a batch or pitcher of your drinks, you can whip up several cocktails in minutes, without breaking a sweat.

Also, having one of these big Ball mason jars will help you feel like a master mixer!

Here are some pitcher drinks that I recommend (click the links for the recipes):

Sangria

This one’s a classic and meant to be made in a large batch, so all of the flavors mingle and combine. You can put all of your fruit, wine, orange juice, sugar and gin in a pitcher or jar to sit over night, then add in the ginger ale (or ginger beer, as we recently tried out) when you’re ready to serve.

Pimm’s Punch

I love that you can make this perfect summer beverage into a batch one! It’s as easy as combining some fruit, Pimm’s and lemonade, champagne, ginger ale or ginger beer!

Gin & Tonic

You can make this classic drink even easier to whip up by preparing a pitcher of Gin & Tonics. Another tip that I’ve learned is using tonic syrup instead of tonic water for more flavor, and then just having some cans of seltzer water on hand to add bubbles to your drinks. This elderflower tonic syrup is a favorite of mine!

Margarita

Get rid of those fake-lime margarita mixes and combine these few natural flavors to make margaritas for a group. A little citrus and booze can go along way, or you can make these virgin by just making limeades.
