Hammontree’s Grilled Cheese

Who doesn’t love a grilled cheese?

Even better, who doesn’t love a fancy grilled cheese made with amazing flavor combos and fresh, local ingredients?
One of my favorite restaurants in Fayetteville (which is saying a lot since we have so many great places) is Hammontree’s on Dickson.
It opened a few years ago and since has become a hot spot for eaters in Northwest Arkansas.
They take the humble grilled cheese to a new level with fine cheeses (brie, goat cheese, bleu to name a few) and delicious meats and spreads.

One of my favorites on the menu is the Brie’s Company. Side note: All the sandwiches have really cute names, too. It’s grilled apple, brie, gouda, carmelized onions and fig jam on sourdough bread. Is your mouth watering yet? I don’t even care for brie usually, but I love this sandwich. They alos have amazing soups, salads and an incredible dessert blueberry grilled cheese.
So, a few months ago, Hammontree’s opened a food truck: The Grillenium Falcon.
My fiance and I, both grilled cheese lovers, had been looking around for the truck for awhile but had no success.
Then, my fiance, who works in the Bentonville Square, told me that the Grillenium was going to be at the square Monday-Friday! We were both so excited that we immediately arranged a Friday lunch date to check it out.
Jason got the Cheebacca (sharp white cheddar, house cheese, bacon, pulled pork, grilled onions and garlic cilantro sauce on sourdough), and I went for the fantastic Scarlet Cheddar (New York sharp cheddar, 24 month vintage cheddar, seriously sharp white cheddar, smoked turkey and herb mayo on European multigrain).
The bread was so buttery and crunchy and all the sharp cheddars were so delicious paired with the herb mayo! Yum!
We gave the food truck (which is usually parked across from the Massey Building just off the square) two thumbs up! A delicious and fun experience, just like the Hammontree’s back home.
Check it out,
Grace
