Simple Saturday: Homemade Nut Butter

IMG_6043

Sometimes I feel like making everything homemade.

Homemade pasta sauce, homemade pie crusts, homemade soup. These are a few things that I love doing from scratch.

And sometimes I just don’t feel like or don’t have the time for homemade.

Hummus, frozen pizzas, pre-made pizza dough. These are a few things that I don’t feel bad about cheating on.

And I think this varies person-to-person and cook-to-cook. A lot of it depends on the time you have to spend cooking, too.

Natural peanut butter is a necessity in our house and I was excited to find this quick and easy recipe for homemade nut butter for those weekend days when I feel like making something homemade and special.

Nut butter is also a great thing to home-make because you can control the salt and sugar in it and add in flavors like chocolate or honey! Exciting! And this is a great way to save some moola on your grocery budget.

The Kitchn offers detailed instructions on how to make your own nut butter and it only takes a few minutes.
