Winter Baking Ideas

You may, like me, have spent some time indoors surrounded by white powdery stuff lately. And in that case, you may have been craving some comforting baked goods to warm you up and make use of some extra free time.

Whether it’s a snow day off, you’re working from home or you’re just wanting to use your oven, I’ve got 6 winter baking recipes for you to choose from! (Recipes listed from top left down; click on title to go to recipe page.)

1. Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Pancakes are one of my favorite things to make on snow days, and these are seriously out of this world! They are light, fluffy, cakey and sweetened with studs of melty chocolate chips. (Even though you don’t use the oven to bake these, you’ll need it on to keep what you’ve already made warm.)

2. Sweet Potato Blondies

If you’re looking to do some healthier baking (and you have a sweet potato or two laying around), these blondies are perfect winter baking. The walnuts and chocolate chips make for a nice texture balance to the moist sweet potato blondie batter.

3. Chai Tea Cookies

This is one of my favorite cookie recipes from the past few years. It combines spice-filled chai tea with shortbread cookie dough and creates a masterpiece of baking.

4. Chai Banana Cake

I guess you know by now that I love the flavors of chai. This cake is super moist and flavorful, like a mix between banana bread and warm, exotic spices.

5. Goat Cheese Biscuits

These fluffy biscuits are perfect for winter baking, and they just take the basic ingredients with some cream and creamy goat cheese. If you’ve got those ingredients laying around, I highly suggest making these biscuits!

6. The Best Granola

If you’re in more of a quick snacky mood, then make a batch of my favorite granola. It’s got coconut, lots of cinnamon, almond extract and nuts to give you a sweet, healthful crunch (it’s delicious on yogurt, too).

I hope you enjoyed this little winter baking session, and let me know if you end up baking anything tasty.
