What’s on My Mind: Food TV

What's On My Mind

Today’s What’s on My Mind is solely dedicated to food TV.

I’m talking about the best shows about food, chefs and cooking that you should definitely be watching! Each of these series are educational and interesting, teaching you more about many aspects of the food you love.

1. Mind of a Chef

From David Chang to Sean Brock and April Bloomfield, there are some amazing chefs featured on this creative series. I love learning more about the chefs’ passion for food and their roots.

Watch this on: PBS

2. A Chef’s Table

This is a new Netflix series that follows one chef per episode, documenting their culinary career and rise to greatness, if you will. I’ve only watched the first one, but it was so beautiful and touching that I cried twice.

Watch this on: Netflix

3. A Chef’s Life

This show is especially close to my heart since I’m an NC girl now. A Chef’s Life is full of heartwarming stories, Southern dishes and the details of Vivian Howard’s exciting life as the chef/owner of Chef & The Farmer and The Boiler Room in Kinston, NC. I really enjoy how Vivian invests in the local farmers in her area and teaches viewers so much about seasonal ingredients.

Watch this on: PBS

4. Parts Unknown

Although Anthony Bourdain is a little too extreme for me sometimes, Parts Unknown is one of my favorite of his shows (the new Layover show is good, too, but definitely not G-rated). He travels to cities across the world to look at their food traditions and how they are shaped by or how they shape their culture.
