Hi, there!
I hope you’re still finding a treasure trove of recipes to try on here (even though I don’t have much space in my life to update these days). I know I still cook lots from this little digital recipe box, but it looks like y’all were digging some old posts over the past year, too. Yay!
Top recipes/posts of 2025
- Slow cooker deconstructed lasagna: I actually made this one again recently and then froze leftovers. It’s such a great dump it in and let it meld recipe.
- Chocolate Earl Grey bundt cake: Here’s another recipe I forgot about that’s so creative and tasty. I just realized I don’t have my silicone bundt pan anymore, so I think it’s time to get another one.
- Burma Part 3: Beverages: I love doing these travel posts, so I’m glad you like reading them. I also think 2026 might be a good time for me to update my NC one and Paris, too.
- Simple Saturday: Za’atar dip: I’ve been making a rosemary dipping oil lately, so that totally vibes with this cousin dipping oil featuring zesty za’atar.
- Peanut butter sorghum bars: If you want to have more healthy snacks around the house in 2026, try these bars. They’re super simple and have a nice depth of flavor.
So, how did my 2025 food resolutions go?
Pretty well! I set out to make a grain salad every other week, and I think I made one just about every month! Farro and lentils and cous cous were my faves. And these made fab in-office lunches for my commute.
What do I want to eat in 2026?
Less is the name of the game this year, specifically:
- Eat less meat: I want to do at least 1 month vegetarian this year. Beef and pork never make me feel great, and I really just prefer the taste of veggies most of the time. I also want to be eating more sustainably. I still plan on eating fish and organic chicken every once in awhile.
- Drink less booze: I would also like to do 2 “dry” months this year. While I still enjoy a glass of wine or the occasional cocktail, I don’t like the draggy feeling I sometimes have after. This year, I’m going to keep glass bottle juices on hand (hello, tart cherry and apple) for a sweet treat and try out more mocktails when I eat out.
- Do some Scandinavian baking: My husband got me this amazing Scandinavian from Scratch cookbook and it has almost all the Danish treats I loved from when we lived there. Surprisingly, the recipes seem pretty simple overall, so I plan on baking lots from this book this year. I will also continue my 2025 tradition of renting cookbooks from the library to thumb through and cook from.
I’m also doing my best to use less plastic, and I want to explore composting this year to cut down on waste. If you’re similarly minded, check out this helpful cookbook for tips.
Thanks for cooking, eating and reading! I may also have some poetry-related news in the works in 2026, so I’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Lovely resolutions!
